British shorthair was first brought to England by Romans in 55 B.C. The breed almost died out during world wars, after the war, breeder revived the breed by outcross with Persian, Russian blue and other cats. In general, Brits should be medium to big in size, compact & well balanced. Females are less massive in all aspects with males having big jowls. The breed takes 3-5 years to fully matured & developed.
Coat
Brits should have short, dense & crisp coat. Their coat should be firm to the touch and NOT wooly silky.
Color
Blue is the classic Brits color, however, nowadays all kind of colors can be found on Brits.
Head
Round head with distinctive muzzles, large round deep copper to orangy yellow eyes, small to medium ears set far apart
BODY
Broad chest, short to medium strong legs, round paws, thick tail at based with a round tip
